Why do I see an Error with purchase message when trying to upgrade?
This message appears when the Apple App Store or Google Play Store turns down the payment before it reaches us. The short note in parentheses at the end of the message tells you the specific reason. Here is what each one means and how to fix it.
(Purchase Not Allowed)
Your phone or store account is blocked from making in-app purchases. This is a restriction set by Apple, Google, or whoever set up your phone, not something we can change on our side. Common causes:
1. Parental controls are on. iPhone uses Screen Time, Android uses Family Link. Both can block in-app purchases.
2. Your phone is managed by a school or employer and purchases are disabled on it.
3. You are on a family-shared account and the family organizer needs to approve the purchase.
4. Your country is not supported by Google Play for in-app purchases. Examples include Ethiopia, Cuba, Iran, Syria, and Myanmar. Apple has a similar list.
What to try: check your Screen Time or Family Link settings, ask the family organizer to approve, or try from a supported country.
If in-app purchases are not supported in your country: you can still upgrade on our web platform. Create an account or log in there and finish the upgrade on the website. Then log into the app with the same email and your premium features will be active.
(Store Problem)
The App Store or Play Store returned a temporary error. Wait a few minutes and try again. If it is still failing after an hour, Apple or Google may be having a wider outage.
(Invalid Credentials)
Your Apple ID or Google account could not authorize the payment. Sign out and back in to the store:
iPhone: open Settings, tap your name, tap Media and Purchases, then sign out and sign back in.
Android: open the Google Play app, tap your profile picture, and check your payment method under Payments and subscriptions.
(Invalid Receipt)
The store did not accept the payment record. Fully close the app and open it again. If it still fails, restart your phone.
(Ineligible)
The specific deal you tapped is not available to you. This usually means you or someone on your family-shared account already used the free trial or intro price. You can still upgrade at the regular price by picking a different plan on the upgrade screen.
(Product Not Available For Purchase)
The plan you picked is not sold in your country or on your store account. Try a different plan, or use our web platform which covers more regions.
